Nestled in the hills of Southern Ohio where the big bucks roam, the gobblers gobble, and the coyotes keep their distance, there thrives an organization that strives to create, foster, and promote the ideals of true sportsmanship.
This organization is dedicated to the enjoyment of the great outdoors. The members enjoy telling stories. Some stories are accurate, but most are likely to be greatly embellished. The meeting place for this organization is the Lazy S Camp. Here the members can get away from their daily worries, kick back, and share information. The Lazy S Hunt Club is a private organization that is dedicated to the enjoyment of many outdoor experiences such as hunting, hiking, and nature observation. This site is developed for your enjoyment in hopes that maybe one day you too can create your own sportsman's club.
To form a good hunt club, you have to have your own land or lease land from contiguous farms.
Leasing a wooded farm can be a good cash crop for the farmer. We are currently paying $5.00 per acre for hunting. At one of the farms we lease, the farmer selectively cut some of the timber while we were paying rent. The cutting made for better game cover.
Identification
Each member has a dated and signed card and the local game warden is given a card to verify rightful hunters. Property owners and their kinfolk are given honorary cards. We also are fortunate to have a bunkhouse for dinners, meetings, and overnight stays.
Communications
Open formal and informal communication is vital to the success of any organization. It is recommended that a club develop a constitution to communicate the objectives, officers, meetings and membership requirements.
